Kitchen remodeling · Palmer Township, PA
Palmer Township sits right next to Easton, and we live a few minutes away. We design and build kitchens across the township, from established neighborhoods of mid-century homes to newer developments, and we manage every project from the first walkthrough to the final punch list.
Investment ranges
Kitchen budgets in Palmer Township track the age of the house as much as the finish level. Opening a wall in a mid-century ranch brings structural and electrical work that a newer kitchen often avoids, while a 1990s kitchen with a sound layout can put more of the budget into cabinetry and stone.
| Project type | Typical range |
|---|---|
| Kitchen refresh, layout unchanged | $35,000 to $75,000 |
| Kitchen remodel, partial layout changes | $85,000 to $150,000 |
| Custom kitchen, structural or layout changes | $150,000 to $275,000 |
| Kitchen plus connected living or dining | $275,000+ |

Local context
Much of Palmer Township's housing falls into two groups. Ranches, split-levels and colonials from the 1950s through the 1970s often have closed kitchens sized for a different way of living, with walls that can be opened to connect the kitchen to dining and family rooms. Homes built from the 1990s onward usually have a workable layout already, so those projects focus on cabinetry, counters, appliances and lighting.
In mid-century homes we test older flooring and adhesive before removal when needed and follow lead-safe practices in homes built before 1978. We are EPA Lead Safe certified.
Our scope
Most Palmer Township kitchen projects follow one of a few patterns, depending on when the house was built. These are the ones we plan for most often.
Kitchens in 1950s and 1960s ranches were usually walled off from the dining room. Removing or widening that wall changes how the whole first floor works. We confirm whether the wall is load bearing, size a beam if it is and reroute any plumbing, ductwork or wiring inside it.
Split-level kitchens often sit between the living room and the stairs to the lower level, with limited wall space and a short run of counter. We look at stair openings, window placement and the adjoining dining area to find room for an island or a longer working wall.
Newer kitchens in Palmer often have a workable layout with oak or thermofoil cabinets, laminate or early granite counters and dated lighting. These projects usually keep the plumbing where it is and put the budget into custom cabinetry, stone, appliances and a proper lighting plan.
Mid-century homes were wired for far less than a modern kitchen draws. Induction ranges, double ovens and under-cabinet lighting usually need new dedicated circuits and sometimes a service upgrade, which we plan before cabinets are ordered.
We fabricate custom metal range hoods and glass cabinet inserts ourselves, so each piece is sized to the kitchen and finished to match the hardware and fixtures.
We prepare the drawings, apply for the permits Palmer Township requires and schedule every inspection, so the paperwork moves alongside construction.
Our approach
We are a husband-and-wife team based in Easton, so Palmer Township projects are close to home. You work directly with the owners: one of us leads design and selections, the other runs construction. That means a written scope before work begins, clear communication throughout and one point of contact from start to finish.
Questions
Usually, yes. Many of these walls carry part of the ceiling or roof load, so we confirm the structure first and, where needed, replace the wall with a properly sized beam. The scope also includes permit drawings, patching the floor where the wall stood and rerouting anything that ran through it.
A refresh that keeps the layout can be finished in a few weeks. A full remodel with layout or structural changes takes several months from design through construction, depending on permits and how much electrical work is involved.
Not during demolition and installation. We can set up a temporary kitchen area elsewhere in the house and plan the schedule so the time without a working kitchen is as short as possible.
Service area
We work throughout Palmer Township and the neighboring City of Easton and Forks Township, and also serve Bucks County and Montgomery County.
